Time goes so fast. Enjoy every moment, blah, blah, blah. And I did. I dropped out of college and retired in my 20's. I spent 3 to 4 years just fishing like 4x a week and partying 6x a week. Then I got real, got the wife and kids and have enjoyed all of that as much or more. And sorta kicked myself for doing what I did and not starting adulthood earlier.

With more financial security earlier on, I could have gone for another kid, maybe. And I could be closer to retirement now. But I firmly believe in mental health. And I was immature at an age where you normally get going with adulthood and I knew it. It wasn't my time to get real. I am privileged for certain that I had parents with patience who loved me. And I feel badly for anyone that doesn't. If I'd have gone to the workforce and got after it earlier, I'd have failed miserably.

Now I think about those cliches. And I'm glad I listened to them and did it my way. I am 55 and I've lived a full life with no regrets. Well, I wish I could call myself a US Marine but I can't, that's the only regret. I was deemed a talented and gifted kid in school and rebelled and did it my way. I lived hard but I always had a safety net. I wish everyone had that opportunity to grow up slowly if they wished. The world might be a better place, I dunno.
